Therapy Intensives
Focused, immersive work — for the moments when an hour a week isn't enough.
Some things shouldn’t wait
Some things are too heavy to carry one hour at a time. Maybe you're ready to go deeper, faster than weekly sessions allow. Maybe something happened and you don't want to spend the next year slowly circling it. Maybe you've just been holding it together for so long that you need real, dedicated time to finally set it down.
An intensive is exactly that — a focused block of time devoted entirely to the work, instead of the stop-and-start of weekly appointments. Many people reach in a few hours what might have taken months to get to otherwise, and leave with both clarity and practical tools to keep moving forward.
Couples
A focused, immersive experience for the two of you — to break the cycle, reconnect, and find your way back to each other without the wait between sessions.
Whether you're coming together or on your own
Individual
Concentrated one-on-one work to move through what's been holding you back — a focused, time-limited format rather than ongoing weekly therapy.
Why Intensives Work
-
Momentum.
Without a week between every session, you don't lose the thread — you build on it in real time.
-
Depth.
A longer, protected stretch of time lets you get past the surface and into what's actually keeping you stuck.
-
A clear plan.
You leave with more than insight — with concrete next steps and tools you can actually use.
What to expect
Every intensive begins before we sit down together — with a conversation and a short questionnaire, so the time we have is shaped around exactly what you need. From there, we work in focused blocks with breaks built in, at a pace that's both meaningful and safe. The specifics — length, structure, and cost — depend on which intensive is the right fit, and we'll walk you through all of it before anything is scheduled.
Not sure which intensive is the right fit?
Tell us what you're navigating, and we'll help you figure it out.
Intensives are a private-pay service and a focused, time-limited experience — not ongoing weekly therapy. For ongoing weekly individual counseling, our sister practice Thrive Counseling offers insurance-based care across Virginia.
