Couples at a Crossroads

tackling painful ambivalence.

You are not sure you want to save your marriage. You are also not sure you want to end it.

You might be the one who has been thinking about leaving for a long time — exhausted, disconnected, and wondering if anything will ever really change. Or you might be the one who just found out your partner has a foot out the door — desperate to fix things but unsure if it's even possible.

Either way you are stuck. And making a permanent decision from that place of uncertainty rarely leads anywhere good.

This work was designed for exactly this moment. Not to convince you to stay. Not to push you toward leaving. But to help both of you slow down enough to figure out what you actually want — and to make whatever decision comes next from clarity rather than crisis.

What is Couples at a Crossroads Counseling?

Couples at a Crossroads (also thought of as “pre-divorce counseling”) is a process designed for couples considering divorce. Unlike marriage counseling, discernment counseling focuses primarily on individual reflection. Joint meetings are brief and free from debate or argument. The majority of the time is spent with a clinician in private, one-on-one conversations with each spouse, while shorter sessions involve sharing selected insights with your partner.

What you can expect:

  • Each person completes a comprehensive assessment

  • Participate in individual sessions and limited joint meetings

  • Both partners gain clarity on whether to remain in or leave the marriage

Possible outcomes are making no change to the marriage, divorcing, or attempting reconciliation through couples’ therapy. Schedule your session today!
