MSW Clinical Social Work InTERN
Crystal Muir
Supporting Tweens and Teens Through Anxiety, Depression, and Life’s Challenges in Fredericksburg, Stafford, and King George, Virginia.
Meet Crystal.
Hi, I’m Crystal Muir, a Master of Social Work Intern passionate about supporting tweens, teens, young adults, and women who are navigating anxiety, depression, and the emotional pressures of today’s world. My goal is to create a space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow with confidence and resilience.
Before entering social work, I spent over eight years in healthcare and behavioral health, where I developed a strong understanding of the connection between emotional and physical wellness. That experience continues to shape my calm, steady presence in sessions, especially during moments of stress or uncertainty.
Individual Therapy – Thrive Counseling (Insurance-Based)
Through Thrive Counseling for Healing & Connection, I provide insurance-based therapy for:
Tweens and teens managing anxiety, depression, school stress, or peer challenges
Young adults navigating independence and life transitions
Women experiencing overwhelm, burnout, or pressure to “do it all”
My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-focused, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I incorporate creative and expressive interventions to help clients build emotional awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop confidence in managing life’s challenges.
I am trained in suicide risk assessment and trauma-informed care, and I work under the supervision of licensed clinical social workers at Thrive Counseling.
Group Work – We Thrive Together (Private Pay)
Through We Thrive Together, I co-facilitate Women’s Groups and Girls Circle programs, offering structured, supportive spaces for connection, growth, and emotional resilience.
I am a Certified Girls Circle Facilitator through the One Circle Foundation, supporting girls in building confidence, empathy, and healthy peer relationships in a guided group setting.
Group work through We Thrive Together provides a collaborative, community-based environment where participants can reflect, connect, and strengthen emotional skills together.
My Background
I am currently completing my Master of Social Work at Grand Canyon University and my clinical internship with Thrive Counseling for Healing & Connection. My background in urgent care and medical settings has strengthened my ability to remain grounded and responsive in high-stress situations, helping clients feel safe and supported.
Connect With Me
